I spat out the water that entered my mouth. To come to my aid, Jackie suddenly plugs my mouth with one hand. And immediately after, with the other hand, the nose.

"I had no more water in my mouth nor in my nose. But no more air. 'So I die... but if I throw him into the sea he dies.' I thought. I remembered reading that if someone is about to drown, to save him you have to drag yourself, face up, with one arm under your chin to support your head. I shook Jackie from my shoulders and as he emerged I clasped him around the neck.

"I didn't look happy. He went red, I stuck my tongue out, with a flicker he frees himself and I punch myself, then a kick, then more punches and kicks.

"This was not expected. I remembered another sentence from the book: 'It is preferable that the body be inert so that it does not resist.' Right away I started throwing punches to make him become an inert-body-easy-to-save. But Jackie didn't faint. On the contrary, I increased the strength of his punches and the more he hit the more I hit, no longer to save him but to save myself.

"Beyond the pole the rescue boat was moving, heading towards us... noticeably, it continued towards land. It came back and: 'Stop playing so violently! You will hurt yourself' said one of the lifeguards, leaning over and stretching an arm to separate us. Then the boat left.

"With our last strength Jackie and I staggered to shore, staggered to the hut and dropped next to Gigia who: 'I watched you play, my darlings' she said smiling and relaxed. 'How fun you were!'"

"Dramatic story, with a happy ending" Papa smiled.

"I do have another more dramatic one."

"I'm listening to you. Tell me, please."
